Denise is a native Texan, growing up in Baytown, Tx. She began her passion for sports in gymnastics, and then transitioned to cheerleading her senior year in high school. After high school, Denise began teaching summer cheer camps with UCA and NCA while cheering in college. She is a UCA collegiate national champion with her alma mater Sam Houston State University where she studied Elementary Education. While in college, Denise started her own all-star cheer team in 1994. Since starting that team, Denise hasn’t stopped coaching since that day.
